AUSTRALIA
Hyatt Regency Coolum
The
18-hole Sunshine Coast course at Hyatt Regency Coolum hosts the Australian
PGA Tour Coolum Classic and featured the 1997 Australian Skins Tournament
won by Fred Couples. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., you'll find it
accurately reflects his architectural philosophy: "This course, is not designed
to punish champions, just to find out who they are."
Throughout your challenging round on this 6,889 yard, par-72 course, you'll
enjoy awesome natural beauty that's unique to Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
Rolling linksland-type holes run beside the Pacific Ocean. And woodland
holes are set in groves of native melaleuca and eucalyptus trees, parkland
and rainforest. All wonderful places to go look for a ball.
Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove
At Hyatt Regency
Sanctuary Cove Resort you can choose from two stunning championship golf
courses. Whether it's the Arnold Palmer-designed The Pines or the resort
course, The Palms, you'll be challenged among picturesque landscapes. Both
world-class courses are situated among soaring pines, century-old cabbage
palms, towering gum trees and beckoning lakes that can be both beautiful
and frustrating.
If you're looking to improve your game, take advantage of one of the resorts
unique features, the Golf Academy. A golf professional can take you through
a computerized swing analysis, an intensive workshop for your problem areas,
and a private round on one of the courses.
CARIBBEAN
Hyatt Grand Cayman
This
Scottish-style course designed by Jack Nicklaus is actually three courses
in one. Off the regulation tees, it plays as a par-35, nine-hole course.
Play the additional nine greens and tees, and it's a par-57, 18-hole executive
course. Or you can tee up the revolutionary restricted-flight "Golden Bear
Cayman Ball" and play a par-71, 18-hole round.
Hyatt Aruba
The oceanfront
Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino is just minutes away from Tierra del
Sol, the only championship golf course on the island of Aruba. The course
was designed and built by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., and measures a full 6,811
yards from the tips. To accommodate golfers of all ages and abilities, the
course also features a variety of tees and approach angles. But no matter
which tees you use, you'll enjoy some of the best views on the island.
Hyatt Dorado - Puerto Rico
Consistently
rated as one of the world's best golf resort destinations and past host
of the World Cup of Golf and Senior Tournament of Champions, the Hyatt Dorado
Beach features two courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. As you might
expect from their oceanside location, you'll encounter a fair amount of
wind and a wealth of exquisite vistas on these two Jones' classics.
The East Course mixes a challenging hills-type front nine with a dramatic
oceanside back nine--for a course layout that was voted one of "America's
Best" by Golfweek. The slightly shorter West Course snakes its way around
lakes and lagoons, rewarding you with striking ocean views every step of
the way.
There is a pro shop, full practice facility and professional instruction
available. And should you crave even more of the Trent Jones' golf experience,
you'll enjoy full privileges at the two courses of the Hyatt Regency Cerromar
Beach right next door, which adds up to 72 holes of championship golf.
Hyatt Cerromar - Puerto Rico
The Hyatt Regency
Cerromar Beach Resort features 36 holes of championship golf spread over
two courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Both layouts have earned
high honors--a silver medal as the best in the Caribbean, and a ranking
that places them among the top 50 resort courses in the world.
With 95 bunkers, the North Course will challenge any golfer's sand game
and please every golfer's eye with sweeping views of Puerto Rico's mountains
and beaches. Play the rolling South Course, where water hazards are the
main attraction, and you'll complete your round with five of the finest
finishing holes in golf.
HAWAII
Hawaii Hyatt Kauai
The
Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course uniquely combines championship golf with breathtaking
surroundings. Host of the 1995-1997 PGA Grand Slam of Golf, it features
a layout designed to complement the ocean Kona winds. To top things off,
the Robert Trent Jonese, Jr., course sports Bermuda grass from tee to green.
Hyatt Maui
Rated the best
course on Maui by Connoisseur magazine, the North Course gradually rises
from sea level to 200 feet above the water. On your way around these 18
holes designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., you'll enjoy views that include
the islands, beaches, and--on the best days--even humpback whales cavorting
offshore.
The South Course, designed by Arthur Jack Snyder, presents you with a forgiving
layout, rolling fairways, and more of nature's awesome natural beauty including
sweeping views of the ocean and mountains.
DOMESTIC U.S.
Hyatt Scottsdale
A
golfer's paradise in the Valley of the Sun. Against a backdrop of colorful
mesas and towering saguaro cacti, three distinctly different nine-hole layouts
grace the grounds of the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale. Designed by Benz & Poellot,
the trio of courses at Gainey Ranch can be played in different combinations
for a complete 18-hole round.
The longest of the three is the Arroyo course. Arroyo is Spanish for "Dry
River," and, true to its name, a natural desert wash runs throughout the
Arroyo nine. The Dunes course is a forgiving desert-style layout lined with
dense desert brush that gives new meaning to the expression "in the rough."
The Lakes course features dramatic holes, with a variety of water hazard
that seem to get even more magnificent as you play your way through this
challenging course.
Hyatt Grand Cypress
The North,
South, and East courses are nine-hole championship layouts offering a variety
of challenges. The New Course is an 18-hole, links-style layout modeled
after The Old Course at St. Andrews. Complete with deep Scottish-style bunkers
and a replica of the stone bridge over St. Andrews' Swilcan Burn, this is
as close to the real thing as it gets. If you're looking to improve your
game (and who isn't), take a lesson at the Grand Cypress Golf Academy, and
of the best schools in the country.
Hyatt Hill Country
They
say everything is a little bigger in Texas, and the Arthur Hills layout
at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort is no exception. This course is
long. In fact, from the tips, the 136-slope-rated course measures over 6,900
years. Rolling meadows, steep hillsides, wooded ravines, tree-shaded plateaus,
tranquil lakes and ponds--this San Antonio gem has something for everyone.
Selected as one of "The top 10 you can play" by Golf Magazine, the Hill
Country Golf Club is also a great place to learn how to hit the long ball--with
a Texas-sized practice facility and expert instructors. It's no secret that
some of the longest hitters on the pro circuit are Texans, and our instructors
can pass their secrets on to you to help you reach your personal best. Before
or after your lesson, visit the ward-winning golf shop--voted one of the
top pro shops in America.
Hyatt Beaver Creek
The Beaver
Creek Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed 6,400-yard championship
golf course set in the magnificent Beaver Creek Valley surrounded by the
White River National Forest. As you play, you'll take in some unbelievable
views of Beaver Creek Mountain and surrounding ranges. And a stream that
meanders its way through the course enhances the beautiful scenery, while
challenging your game.
For nearly two decades, this par-70 course has challenged and inspired golfers.
With a USGA rating of 69.2 from the championship tees and 70.2 from the
forward tees, Beaver Creek Golf Course offers a test for players of all
skill levels. Its season begins in May and runs through mid October.
Hyatt Grand Champions
Nestled
in the foothills of the beautiful San Jacinto Mountains, you'll discover
the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort. With not one, but two lush and immaculately
groomed championship courses designed by Ted Robinson, this golfers' oasis
is no mirage.
Although either one of Grand Champions' 18-hole layouts can be played from
a choice of three tee positions, the West Course is more forgiving and slightly
shorter in length. From its undulating fairways, you can take in one of
the finest panoramic views of the entire Coachella Valley. For a more challenging
round, try the slightly longer East Course. With many beautiful but potentially
treacherous water hazards, the East Course will test your drives for length
and your approach shots for accuracy.
Hyatt Palm Springs
Considered
one of the best-conditioned desert courses in the country, Rancho Mirage
greets you with spectacular views of the San Jacinto Mountains. But what
you should concentrate on is keeping your head down and your eyes on the
ball when you swing, because Rancho mirage is famous for tight fairways
and greens well-protected by bunkers or water hazards. This emerald oasis
has hosted numerous charity events, including the Milton Berle Invitational
and Ladies Day with Dinah.
Hyatt Hilton Head
Choices,
choices, choices. With five great courses designed by four of the world's
most famous golf course architects, the Hyatt Regency Hilton Head offers
you a wealth of opportunities.
At the Palmetto Dunes Complex, test your skills on the challenging Arthur
Hills and George Fazio courses. Or try the Robert Trent Jones Course--where
a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean awaits you on the signature 10th
hole. The neighboring Palmetto Hall Plantation features an oak-lined Arthur
Hills creation. Also at Palmetto Hall is the new Robert Cupp golf course.
With geometrically-shaped greens and sand traps as well as pyramid-shaped
mounds, this course is like no other you've ever played.
Hyatt Lake Tahoe
For the blue
tees, the par-72 Championship Course is over 6,900 yards long, with a 72.6
course rating. If the elevation of 6,500 feet above sea level doesn't take
your breath away, the incredible mountain setting in which you're playing
just might. You'll experience greater distance with every shot due to the
altitude, but with tightly cut fairways bordered by towering pines, you'd
better be accurate. Bunkered greens and waterhazards await approach shots
on just about every hole. You'll wonder how the course record of 63 was
ever achieved.
The Executive Course is recognized as one of the finest layouts of its type
in the world and has been host to the National Championship of Executive
Courses. This par-58 course features fourteen creative and challenging par-3's
averaging over 150 yards in length and four par-4's. Straight shots are
in your best interest because the sloping designs of the landing areas among
the lofty pines are not forgiving.
Hyatt Monterey
Designed
by Charles Maud, and constructed in 1897, Old Del Monte has aged very gracefully.
Although only 6,278 yards long from the championship tees, the course maintains
a slope rating of 122 due to narrow fairways lined with majestic Monterey
pines and sprawling oaks. Set inland on the peninsula, the course is further
distinguished by its complete absence of water hazards and its abundance
of splendid views of the surrounding foothills.
Hyatt Dallas
Consistently
ranked as one of the best golf facilities in Texas with over 335 acres set
among gently rolling Texas hills, you'd never guess that the Hyatt Bear
Creek Golf Club is actually adjacent to the Dallas/Fort Worth airport. Its
convenient location means you can play almost right up until boarding time.
Good thing, too. Because you'll want the extra time to play all 36 holes
at Bear Creek. Names one of the "The top 50 resort courses" in America by
Golf Digest, Bear Creek gives you a choice of two 18-hole layouts. Play
the East Course, and you'll face a 6,670-yard challenge from the tips. For
a slightly more challenging round, match your skills against the West Course,
which boasts a slope rating of 130 off the championship tees. Either way,
you're sure to have an enjoyable time--whether you're a novice or a seasoned
veteran.
