African Safari  Our
ultimate adventures bring you luxury in the wild. You will experience primitive
and natural settings, while enjoying the ultimate in service,
cuisine and accommodations. These adventures are for the discerning client.

of the planet, but are unwilling to give up the pampering, you are ready
for an ultimate adventure!
THE AFRICAN SAFARI EXPERIENCE PLANING YOUR ITINERARY We will assist you in planning the finest and most diverse wildlife itinerary in Africa.  Between
January and March, highlights include the migrating herds of wildebeest
in Tanzania, whilst on the tip of Africa, the fair Cape and its splendid
beaches are the continent's finest. Between April and September, during
southern Africa's dry season, northern Zimbabwe is teeming with herds of
buffalo and elephant which gravitate towards the mighty Zambezi, whilst
the South African bushveld teems with
life as animals congregate around pans and rivers.  Between
July and September, the Masai-Mara plains in Kenya become studded with the
bodies of the great wildebeest migration. And in August and September, the
Kalahari Desert in South Africa reveals its spring bloom, whilst nearby
Namaqualand bursts into colour with the most spectacular wild flowers on
earth.
 In flying
to Africa, the main gateways for your safari will be Nairobi in East Africa,
and Johannesburg in southern Africa. From these hubs, commercial airlines
service our wildlife regions and we will transfer you conveniently by air
or vehicle between the nearest commercial airstrip and our lodges. We will
also fly guests between lodges within each country -seldom longer than a
two-hour scenic flight.
SERVICE CARE Personal care is our hallmark, and we go out of our way to ensure that our clients' needs are catered for. At some of lodges you will experience the unique 'Muchinda' concept - a personal attendant who will ensure that all your needs are met during your stay, reflecting our belief that each of our clients deserves royal treatment. CUISINE  The cuisine
celebrates the great continent of Africa. Modern culinary styles and ingredients
are infused with flavours of Africa - from Cairo to Cape Town, from Dakar
to Zanzibar. Bush breakfasts and dinners are a specialty and are enjoyed
in the heart of the African wilderness. All special dietary and culinary
needs are catered for.
GAME VIEWING AND GUIDES Hand-picked rangers and trackers ensure that close encounters with wildlife are exciting, informative and safe. 
Rangers undergo extensive training and are engendered with a code of ethics
and reverence for all life. Specialist guides in birds, trees, astronomy
and other subjects are resident at many of the lodges.
Game viewing is conducted in comfortable 4 X 4 vehicles selected on the basis of the terrain. Specially modified open vehicles, seating a maximum eight people, are used in most private reserves. For those seeking privacy, a personal ranger and exclusive vehicle can be arranged on request. ACTIVITIES  Game drives
and bush walks to view wildlife are the focal point, but many other activities
can be experienced. Birdwatching is popular, whilst night drives with spotlamps,
river cruises and canoeing, beach excursions to enjoy fishing, snorkeling
and scuba-diving, and visits to cultural villages are offered at certain
lodges.
SAFETY  Taking
care of the safety of guests is paramount. All rangers are armed with rifles
on game viewing drives and trained guards patrol the camps. In case of an
emergency, medical rescue services are on standby for airlifting to the
best professional medical care facility in South Africa. Whilst the camps
are designed to protect guests against mosquitoes, malaria is a threat in
most wildlife areas and it is essential to consult your doctor for advice
before embarking on your safari.
